Ustad Roshan Jamil was fortunate to be born in a traditional musician family, popularly known as Dilli Gharana, which one of the ancient Gharana of legendary musicians. Roshan being the family member of Dilli Gharana got his initial vocal training from his maternal Uncle (Maamu Jaan ) Ustad Nasir Ahmed Khan.

As a youngster Ustad Roshan Jamil was very much inspired by versatile playback singer Mohd. Rafi ji, and tried to follow his singing as his first Guru. The continuous practise (Riyaz) soon made him a versatile singer.

Roshan Jamil is an established Ghazal singer and he is approved artist in ICCR (The Indian Council for Cultural Relations) and has been honoured by several awards. Recently Ustad Roshan Jamil has been awarded by the reputed group Octavians for his excellent performances.

As a Ghazal singer he has spell bound his audience both nationally and internationally. He has travelled more than 30 countries worldwide and performed at various concert and festival. At present Roshan Jamil is carrying on the family legacy forward and enhancing his self musical growth.
