Tulsi Ram Koli & Family – Master Craftsman Of Chanderi Sarees

Profile of Artist:

Pradeep, Manoj and Narendar Koli were fortunate to be born in a traditional family of weaver where weaving was practised through generations.

Guru of these three brothers was renowned weaver Tulsi Ram Koli of Chanderi district who was honoured by National Award for sari weaving by President of India. Like all other children they all learned the skill of weaving while playing, when they were just kids.

The distinct zari work, soft fabric and vibrant colours of Chanderi fabric makes it unique and different from other hand-woven saris.

The hand woven soft texture of Chanderi sarees is becoming popular all over India and also among saree lovers in foreign countries.

Pradeep along with his brother is happily carrying forward the legacy of Chanderi Sarees, though due to lock down at the time of pandemic sale has reduced.
