Mohd Yaseen is a National Award winner from Mangrol, Baran, is one of the most popular artisans in the country working with designers across. His work in Zari on Kota doria, cotton and silk are one of his specialties.
Mohd Yaseen was born in a weavers family and like any another family he picked up this skill when he was a child and learned the art of weaving this fabric from his father. The magic of Kota Doria comes to life when craftsman like Mohd Yaseen pursues this craft .He has created kota doria saris with ‘butti’ on them, making them a rare piece.
He is proud to say that The Kota Doria is one of the finest open weave fabrics of India. He accepted the challenges as a weaver and has developed his skill as demand in the market. Now Mohd Yaseen children are also supporting him in his tradional art of weaving and carrying this heritage forward.
