Sangeeta Gupta – Esteemed Poet, Artist and Filmmaker

Profile of Artist:

Sangeeta Gupta, an acclaimed artist, poet and filmmaker, recently retired as chief commissioner of Income Tax, also worked as Advisor (finance & administration) at Lalit Kala Akademi, National Akademi of visual arts.

She has to her credit 35 solo exhibitions of painting, and 25 published books including 14 anthologies of poems in Hindi and 6 in English. Ten of her collection of poems is translated in German, Greek, Mandarian, English, Bangla, Dogri, Tamil and Urdu.

She has directed, scripted and shot 17 documentary films. Seven of them are in collection of Library of Congress US.

Song of the cosmos is her creative biography. Sangeeta Gupta has been adjudged as highly commended poet of the year 2020 in the category of Faith – centred poetry by Destiny Poets International Community of Poets (ICOP), Wakefield, UK.

She has participated as a poet in Jaipur Literature Festival several times .Her poems are regularly published in Literary Vibes, Bhubaneswar.

Recently her poems were published in the anthology of 39th world congress of poets, SETU a bilingual journal, Pittsburgh, USA, Destine Literare, North America.
