TRADITIONAL MADHUBANI AND PAPIER MACHE FOLK ARTIST (NATIONAL AWARD WINNER)

Hema Devi started learning Mithila Lokchitra from her mother at the age of 15. Hema Devi is daughter of renowned Mithila Lokchitra artist Leela Devi. Hema did a professional training under her mother (Guru) during program, Guru Shishya Prampara.

As a completely dedicated artist Hema Devi has trained many young artists. She continued practicing the traditional Mithila painting after her marriage. Love for art, forced her to learn the art of papier machie from her mother in law Subhdara Devi and started supporting her also.

Hema Devi has participated in many exhibitions and training workshops. She continues to devote herself for the development of the this art.

Hema Devi is one of a rarest artist who has received National award for Mithila Lokchitra and State award for her contribution papier mache craft.
