Shilpguru, National Awardee in Fine Art of Desi Meenakari/ Enamel Kundan Jewellery

Inder Singh belongs to the artisan family who has specialized in desi meenakari, Mugal and Rajputs Style Art. Since 16thcentury his forefathers have passed this unique skill to their children as a tradition under the Guru Shishya Prampara (tradition).

Inder Singh learned the nuances of meenakari,Mugal and Rajputs Style art from his father Sardar Kudrat Singh (Padma Shree) who was his Guru. This magnificent craft of fine art enameling gold, silver jewellery and desi meenakari jewellery was under the direct patronage of Royal King of Jaipur.

Inder Singh Kudrat has created master creations and supported his family in flourishing the ancestral Mugal and Rajput art under his guidance. He has participated for the demonstration of this traditional craft in the national and international exhibitions.

The desi meenakari process involves pouring enamel into the grooves made on a silver or gold sheet. Each color of enamel needs to be fired separately and then polished once it’s cooled. The great effort and magical hands of Inder Singh Kudrat create beautiful jewellery of Meenakari which is appreciated worldwide.
