Profile of Artist:

Born in a family of legendary figures in the vocal and instrumental world of music young Shahid ZafarKhan in the natural process of grooming up inherited a deep sense of the art of music of “Delhi Gharana”

In his childhood his mentor was the eminent vocalist Late Ustad Chand Khan Saheb, Ustad Usman Khan Saheb.After his demise Shahid Zafar started receiving intensive training in Sitar from his father Ustad Zafar Ahmed Khan and brother Saeed Zafar Khan a renowned Sitarist of the countryand Ustad Zahoor Ahmed Khan a grat violinist.

Undoubtly, Shahid Zafar has established himself as talented Sitarist and carved a niche in numerous mucic conferences and festivals in India and abroad. One finds in his sitar recital a soft, subtle and soothing colour of tonal quality with tunefulness and deep sense of Ragdari.
