Vinod Joshi - Eminent Traditional Festival Director and Social Anthropologist

Vinod Joshi did his masters in social anthropology from Rajasthan University, Jaipur and dissertation on the snake charmer community of Rajasthan.

In 2001 he joined JVF_ Jaipur Virasat Foundation a leading organization working for promotion of folk music and musicians of Rajasthan.He was the first person to start the face to face interactive Heritage Walk, based on the food,artisans,craft,music and living traditions of walled city of Jaipur.

He did the mapping of all folk musician communities of Rajasthan, identified their talent and provided them platform to showcase their artistry, which brought them worldwide recognition.

Vinod Joshi also helped in conceptualizing the BBC film on “The Lost Music Of Rajasthan.

He played a key role in initiating several regional folk music festivals of Rajasthan. He designed the concept and content of folk music in Jodhpur (2007-2014), Jaipur Heritage International Festival (2003 – 2011) and was the advisor of Jaipur Literature Festival (2006-2010).

At present he is director of Momasar Utsav, an annual 2 days regional folk music festival of Rajasthan.

He has participated in various International festivals also. At present he is co founder of Dancing Peacock and also CEO of Jajam Foundation.
