Profile of Artist:

Pradiptaa Chakraborty is a highly acclaimed Indian contemporary artist whose painting and its intricate work depicts the combination of reality and fiction. Pradiptaa normally creates stories on canvas using acrylics; these stories are mainly based on humanism and Divine love. He is a professional painter who completed a five years Diploma in Painting from Rabindra Bharti University, Kolkata. He completed BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS (B.F.A) in Graphics from Kala Bhavana, Vishva Bharati University, Shantiniketan.

As a child Pradiptaa was confined in his house, his friends were trees, plants, birds and animals. Pradiptaa’s father was his first Guru who held his tiny hands to write and draw on paper. Though his father late Shree Pabitra Kumar Chakraborty was a mathematics Professor but he soon realized the artistic skill of his son and later Pradiptaa got a chance to learn the details of painting under a senior artist. Perhaps one can say that after his father his first teacher was Himanshu Shekhar Das.

Very Humbly Pradiptaa told us that 3 legendary artists of timeless appeal have always inspired him; they are Abanindranath Tagore, Nandlal Bose and Vincent Vangogh. He has participated in several Solo and group Exhibition in India and in abroad. As a passionate painter Pradiptaa wishes to see a beautiful rose in the hands of every soldier instead of a gun.
