Guru Shri Purusottam Muni is a traditional folk dancer from Odisha who performs all the folk dances right from Sankh badan, Tiger Dance, Ranapa dance and Chadehya dance.
At present Purusottam Muni is the leader of his organisation named SANKH DWHANI KALA BIKASH KENDRA.
This cultural organisation was formed in the year 1965 by his father; Late Guru Sankhuaaratna Antarjyami Muni.This was the birth place of Sankh Badan Dance.
Guru Shri Purusottam Muni along with his traditional artists is working hard to preserve and popularize folk dance of Odisha.
Tribals from Odisha perform 'Jodi Shankha' dance form, a folk dance of Odisha. While blowing two conches at a time without stop, the artistes also formed various human forms mostly martial in nature. The harmony between the modulation of the conch and the physical movements of the artists is laudable.This unique dance is one the rarest and oldest dance of Odisha which is performed by artists that are trained under guidance of Guru Shri Purusottam Muni.
