Gafur Khan– Renowned Traditional Singer (Folk Style – Jangra)

Gafur Khan is privileged to be born in a musical family and he is among the members of 7th generation of Manganiyar folk musicians from Rajasthan. Gafur started his training at tender age of six; he got the traditional musical training in vocal singing and learned how to play musical instruments like Khartal, Morchang, and Bhapang. He has specialised in Manganiyar Folk Style called Jangra , now he leads his famous folk – fusion band, “The Gafur Khan Group”

His voice has graced musical events and platforms in India and around the world from Australia, France,, Germany, Africa, Dubai and Egypt, and in many other cultural events and festivals.The Gafur Khan is a name that finds special mention and great respect among the folk music circuits of Rajasthan. Today he sings a wide repertoire of traditional Folk and Sufi songs.
